Hi. I pretty really bad seborrheic dermatitis. Would you recommend this shampoo/conditioner for me?

Yes, and let me explain why.

When you have seborrheic dermatitis (SB), your skin is already inflamed and irritated. Surfactants, especially SLS (Sodium Lauryl Sulfate), can make that irritation worse. In fact, in skin studies, SLS is often used specifically to inflame the skin before the efficacy of soothing ingredients is tested on it. Crazy that it's still in so many shampoos, right?

We don't use harsh surfactants like SLS. Instead, we use gentle ones that are often found in baby products. On top of that, we’ve added almost 5% betaine to the shampoo, an insanely high amount, to reduce irritation and deeply moisturize. The shampoo is also superfatted, meaning it removes excess sebum while leaving a light, protective layer to keep your scalp and hair hydrated.

Our conditioner is completely free of industrial quats (quaternary ammonium compounds), which, in 99.9% of conditioners, can be skin irritants and cause allergic reactions. We skip them entirely. The only small consideration is our essential oils. If your scalp is extremely sensitive, they could cause mild irritation. That said, they're rich in antioxidants, and rosemary, in particular, has shown great results in SB studies. We recommend a patch test just to be safe and to make sure you're comfortable.

I'd also highly recommend our TONIK for SB. We've had amazing feedback from our users with SB, though again, it contains essential oils, so a patch test is best. I can't wait for you to try it. Thank you so much for reaching out!
