I’m just curious if the BALM has some SPF in it. It seems like some of the ingredients have an SPF rating. Do you have a specific SPF number for BALM?

SPF (Sun Protection Factor) is an FDA rating applied to over-the-counter drugs that offer protection against UV and UVB rays that cause sunburn. None of CULT+KING's products are over-the-counter drugs; we are a cosmetics company. Thus, none of our products have SPF ratings.

That said, while some of the ingredients in BALM, like Shea butter, may have some sun protection properties, we do not recommend using BALM as a sun protectant.  A nice zinc-based natural SPF 30 sunscreen worn over BALM should do the trick.

If you do find yourself with a little more sun exposure than you planned on, BALM is an excellent soothing skin cream. We have countless stories of people applying BALM generously after a day at the beach with wonderful results.
